The features are modelled with considerable plastic skill, exhibiting large almond-shaped eyes, a straight nose, and slightly parted lips. A small monogram or magistrate's symbol appears at the lower right of the field. The absence of a surrounding legend on this face is consistent with the iconographic conventions of Metapontine coinage of this period. |
