Above the tunny, a forepart or head of an eagle is rendered in high relief, wings partially spread, facing left. The design is executed in the bold, archaic style characteristic of fifth-century Mysian electrum coinage. | Opis rewersu | A quadripartite incuse square dominates the reverse, divided by raised ridges into four recessed compartments of roughly equal size, creating a windmill or saltire cross pattern. This deeply impressed incuse punch is the standard reverse treatment for archaic-period electrum fractions of Kyzikos and is characteristic of the hammered technique employed at this mint.
