Obverse description Châtel tournois depicted in the centre of the field within a beaded inner circle: a stylised fortified tower with a pointed roof flanked by two turrets, each surmounted by a small annulet, with a doorway indicated at the base. The design follows the established Tournois castle type common to low-denomination medieval coinage of the Southern Low Countries. The surrounding legend in uncial characters reads ✠ GVILELMVS COMES, identifying the issuing count.
