Obverse description The obverse features two coin reproductions at center: an upper gilt roundel depicting the Hamburg city arms with the legend FREIE UND HANSESTADT HAMBURG, and a lower roundel showing the Imperial German eagle with the legend DEUTSCHES REICH 1908. Surrounding the central panel are four silver-toned quadrants bearing emblematic relief motifs including an anchor, the Hamburg castle tower, and scrollwork, all set within a gilt border adorned with a ring of stars.
