| Obverse description | Detailed relief of the main façade of the Monastery of Santa Maria de Alcobaça, a UNESCO World Heritage Cistercian monument, occupying the central field. The legend arcs across the upper portion, separated by a series of fleurs-de-lis in relief distributed around the field, with two larger ones flanking the central architecture. At the bottom of the field, the publisher's mark reads 'ED. LUSATENAS 98', and below the facade, the UNESCO World Heritage diamond emblem appears in the exergue. |

At the top, the coat of arms of the former Portuguese Province of Timor is displayed with the legend 'PROVÍNCIA DE TIMOR' on its scroll.
