Obverse description High-relief draped bust of Queen Caroline Mathilde facing right, her hair adorned with a pearl diadem and pearl strands. The engraver's signature I. H. WOLFF F. appears in the lower field. The circular Latin legend runs along the raised rim.

Reverse description A richly ornamented pedestal or altar bearing the crowned royal cipher CM within a wreath in relief, surmounted by the Danish royal crown from which radiate long sunbeams filling the upper field. The motto is inscribed in the upper legend, and the location and date appear in two lines in the exergue below the base.
