Obverse description The obverse displays the crowned civic arms of the City of Berlin, Canada, in relief: a shield bearing a beaver flanked by oak and maple branches, surmounted by a royal crown above a scroll inscribed CITY OF, with a lower scroll reading BERLIN and the legend CANADA beneath. The date 1912 appears in the upper field of the shield. The medal is of irregular scalloped form with an integral rectangular suspension loop at the top.
