| Obverse description | Right-facing bust of Pope Benedict XV in papal vestments and zucchetto, struck in the nickel centre of a bimetallic flan. The circular legend in the gilded outer ring reads BENEDICTVS XV PONTIFEX MAXIMVS, with the pontificate dates 1914 - 1922 in the lower field flanked by dots. The engraver's signature appears at the base of the bust. |
