Obverse description
On the left, we see a map of mainland Portugal, with St Christopher carrying the baby Jesus on his shoulder (he is considered the patron saint of drivers in Portugal). In the centre we see a motorcyclist and, above him, a helicopter (both figures are means of transport used by the Traffic Brigade). To the right is a vehicle, which is probably the famous 1961 Porsche 356 acquired by the GNR in 1970, which accompanied Pope Paul VI`s visit to Portugal.
