The lion occupies the majority of the inner field, enclosed within a raised circular border. The surrounding Latin legend ENRICVS CARTVS DEI GRACIA runs along the outer field, partially legible on the irregular flan. The die workmanship reflects the provincial character of the Avila mint during the civil war coinage period of 1466–1471. |
