Obverse description Central field bears a bold geometric or floral device enclosed within a circular dotted border, characteristic of Mamluk hammered bronze coinage. The design element, possibly a stylized floral rosette or knot motif, is rendered in raised relief against the flat field. A plain raised rim encircles the dotted border, with the irregular flan edge typical of hand-struck Mamluk fals production. The field shows the coarse surface texture inherent to cast or hammered bronze of this period.
