| Reverse description | Central field presents a second facing effigy of Daikoku, the god of wealth, similarly depicted in the characteristic Edo-period iconographic style with his broad kasa hat above his rounded face and flowing hair to one side. The deity is seated upon bundled rice bales (tawara) rendered in pronounced low relief across the lower register, with the mallet and associated auspicious attributes flanking the figure. The kanji character '宝' (Hō), denoting the Hōei era, is integrated into the body of the design as a mint authentication mark. The double Daikoku motif appearing on both faces is the defining feature of this specific Hōei Mitsuhō Mameitagin variety. |
