Obverse description Obverse depicts a mounted horseman (the traditional Russian 'Yezdets' motif) facing right, shown in profile astride a prancing horse, wielding a lance or spear downward toward a serpent or fallen figure beneath the horse's hooves. The design is struck on an irregular planchet cut from a silver wire rod, characteristic of the Russian wire money (chekha) tradition. The relief is bold but uneven due to the hand-hammered technique, with the equestrian figure dominating the compact oval field. No formal legend appears on this face; the mint designation МОС КВА (Moscow) is associated with this side. The flan edges are ragged and irregular, typical of this coinage type.
