Obverse lettering МОС КВА
(Translation: Moscow)
Reverse description Reverse bears a multi-line Cyrillic inscription filling the entire field of the irregular oval flan, set in bold, raised early-Cyrillic letterforms across six horizontal lines. The legend reads the full royal titulature of Tsar Mikhail Fyodorovich, first ruler of the Romanov dynasty, identifying him as Tsar and Grand Prince of All Rus. The lettering is characteristic of early 17th-century Muscovite die-cutting, with tall, compressed characters and occasional ligatures. The mint attribution МОС/КВА (Moscow) appears on the obverse, while the reverse is devoted entirely to the sovereign's title. Flan irregularities and die-shift are visible at the edges, consistent with cheshуyka wire-money production.
