Obverse description Central design depicts an armored equestrian figure — representing the Tsar — mounted on a galloping horse facing right, wielding a raised lance or spear. The mint mark letters МО appear beneath the horse's hooves in the lower field. The design is characteristic of the wire money (cheshuyка) tradition, struck on an irregularly shaped planchet cut from a silver wire rod.
