| Reverse description | The reverse of this wire kopeck is occupied entirely by a multi-line Cyrillic legend arranged across the flat, irregular field in the customary format of Muscovite wire money. The inscription, reading ЦРЬИК НSЬВЕЛИ КИФЕѠД ОРЪВСЕЯ РУСИ, translates as 'Tsar and Grand Prince Fyodor of all Rus,' asserting the full imperial title of Tsar Fyodor I Ivanovich. The lettering is boldly struck in archaic Cyrillic script, distributed across four to five lines filling the available flan. Characteristic die-cutting idiosyncrasies of the Pskov mint are evident in the letterforms. The plain, unbordered field and the absence of any decorative framing are consistent with standard production of the period. |
