Reverse description Central large numeral I (denoting 10 nummi) occupies the field, flanked by the mint and regnal abbreviations arranged in two columns. To the left, the letters V and S are arranged vertically; to the right, TI above NI, together reading VSTI/NI and identifying the issuing emperor Justin (II). Two pellets appear above the numeral I. The design is characteristic of Byzantine decanummia of this reign, with bold, deeply struck letterforms on a compact, irregularly shaped copper flan.
