Obverse description Christ Pantokrator enthroned facing, nimbate with cruciform nimbus, robed in imperial Byzantine style, raising his right hand in a gesture of benediction with two fingers extended while his left hand rests on a jeweled book of Gospels across his knee. The throne is ornamented with pellets and a footstool is visible below. The Christogram nomina sacra IC-XC flanks the figure in the left and right fields respectively, rendered in Greek letters.
