| Beschrijving keerzijde | A large, pendulous bunch of grapes suspended from a vine with tendrils and stylised vine leaves, rendered in high relief with individual berries clearly delineated. The cluster hangs centrally within the field, conveying the agricultural prosperity and Dionysiac associations emblematic of this Sicilian mint. The composition is bold and fills the flan without inscription, the vine shoot and foliage extending toward the upper field. The style is consistent with Sicilian bronze coinage of the late fourth century BC. |
