| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare head of the young Herakles facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with naturalistic modeling of the facial features. The hero's scalp is enveloped in the lion's skin headdress, with the animal's mane and pelt rendered in detailed relief cascading behind the neck and over the crown of the head. The musculature of the face and jaw is boldly executed, consistent with the finest Tarentine die-cutting of the period. The field is plain, with no legend or additional devices. |
