| 裏面の説明 | Crab seen from above, rendered in high relief with extended claws and finely detailed carapace, a canonical emblem of Akragas appearing on its coinage from the archaic period onward. Six pellets are arranged in the field around the crab, serving as value marks denoting the hemilitron denomination of six onkiai. Below the crab, a fish is depicted in left profile, its scales and fins rendered with delicate incision. The composition fills the flan with confident artisanship typical of Sicilian bronze coinage of the late fifth century BC. No legend appears on the reverse. |
