Obverse description A youthful nude male figure, rendered in archaic Greek style, kneels in the running position facing left with both arms extended forward, holding an unidentified object in the left hand. The figure is depicted in lively three-quarter perspective typical of Kyzikene coinage, with musculature indicated by confident incised lines. A tuna fish, the civic emblem of Kyzikos, appears in the right field. The entire design is contained within a plain circular border on the smooth electrum flan.
