Obverse description Facing view of a Boeotian shield rendered in high relief, its characteristic double-curved cutouts at left and right clearly delineated against the raised, convex central boss. The shield occupies virtually the entire flan, its broad rim framing the domed body in a bold, schematic composition typical of Theban coinage of the Classical period. No inscription or exergual element is present; the design relies entirely on the powerful, instantly recognizable silhouette of the Boeotian pelte as a regional emblem.
