| Obverse description | Cicada rendered in high relief, depicted dorsally with wings folded along the body and detailed segmentation visible on the abdomen; the insect is presented frontally from above, occupying the central field. A small seal device is positioned to the right in the field. The naturalistic rendering of the cicada is characteristic of archaic Phokaian electrum coinage, executed with fine engraving despite the coin's diminutive size. |
