Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing left, rendered in archaic Greek style with strong, sculptural relief. The helmet, of Attic type, is depicted with a prominent crest and cheekpiece, the eye rendered schematically beneath the visor. In the lower field below the neck truncation, a small seal (phoke) faces left, serving as the civic badge of Phokaia. The die engraving is characteristic of the refined yet bold archaic electrum coinage of the Ionian coast.

Reverse description Plain quadripartite incuse square, divided by a raised cross into four equal recessed compartments, each with a rough, uneven surface typical of early electrum coinage produced by hammered incuse punch technique. The incuse pattern fills the entire reverse field within a slightly irregular circular flan, with no legend or additional devices present.
