| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing left, rendered in archaic Greek style with strong, sculptural relief. The helmet, of Attic type, is depicted with a prominent crest and cheekpiece, the eye rendered schematically beneath the visor. In the lower field below the neck truncation, a small seal (phoke) faces left, serving as the civic badge of Phokaia. The die engraving is characteristic of the refined yet bold archaic electrum coinage of the Ionian coast. |

| Reverse description | Plain quadripartite incuse square, divided by a raised cross into four equal recessed compartments, each with a rough, uneven surface typical of early electrum coinage produced by hammered incuse punch technique. The incuse pattern fills the entire reverse field within a slightly irregular circular flan, with no legend or additional devices present. |
