Obverse description A kithara (lyre) depicted in bold relief, rendered frontally and occupying most of the flan, with its characteristic curved arms and multiple strings clearly articulated. Beneath the kithara, a tunny fish is shown in left profile, serving as the civic badge of Kyzikos and a standard control symbol on its electrum coinage. The design is executed in the archaic Greek style, with strong, confident die-cutting typical of the finest Kyzikene hekte production. No legend is present, the design alone identifying the issuing city. The overall composition is well-centred on the irregularly shaped flan.
