| Beschrijving keerzijde | A bold quadripartite incuse square dominates the reverse, created by the punch of the lower die and divided into four recessed compartments by raised ridges meeting at a central point. Each of the four quadrants displays a rough, granular sunken surface resulting from the hammering technique. This standard incuse reverse type is characteristic of early Greek electrum coinage and served a functional purpose in securing the metal and authenticating the flan. The field surrounding the incuse square is plain and unmarked. No legend or additional devices are present. |
