| Obverse description | Youthful male head shown in left-facing profile, rendered in fine archaic Greek style and set upon a raised circular disk. The hair is depicted with carefully incised parallel striations swept back from the brow, characteristic of the early Classical period. Beneath the disk, a tunny fish is shown in left-facing profile, serving as the civic emblem of Kyzikos and a recurring type-marker on the city's electrum coinage. The flan is irregularly shaped, typical of hand-struck Kyzikene hektes of this period. No inscription or legend appears in the field. |
