Hebryzelmis ruled the Odrysian kingdom during a period of acute dynastic instability — his reign lasted perhaps three years before the throne passed again, part of a prolonged fragmentation that followed the death of Seuthes I and would eventually allow Cotys I to consolidate power by the 380s. Coins attributable to Hebryzelmis are consequently rare, the product of a compressed window of issue.
The Type II classification distinguishes this from earlier emissions by die characteristics documented across the Peykov corpus, with Dobruski's original plate specimens remaining the principal reference anchors for attribution.
