| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central voided cross dividing the field into four quarters, each containing a pellet or annulet grouping, characteristic of the Anglo-Norman penny type. The cross extends to a beaded inner circle, beyond which the moneyer's legend is inscribed around the circumference. The design is struck on an irregular, slightly chipped flan typical of cut halfpennies of this reign. The overall workmanship reflects the provincial hammered technique of early twelfth-century English minting. |
