Reverse description Central field enclosed within a beaded inner circle features a plain cross with pellets (two) in the first and fourth cantons and trefoil clover motifs in the second and third cantons. The outer legend, separated by a plain border, reads the mint name in Gothic Latin capitals. The arrangement is a classic Italian medieval grosso reverse type, with the cross acting as both a devotional and compositional element, and the pellet and clover ornaments filling the quarters symmetrically.
