Above the horse are pellets and a prominent crescent or sun symbol, while additional crescents and pellets occupy the upper and lower fields, representing celestial motifs — the 'sun and moons' that give this type its name. A wheel or ringed pellet appears below the horse, and further geometric elements fill the remaining field. The entire composition is struck in bold relief with no inscription, consistent with the uninscribed Middle Whaddon Chase series attributed to the Trinovantes. |
