| Obverse description | Highly stylised and abstracted rendering of the head of Apollo facing right, derived ultimately from Macedonian prototype coinage. The design is dominated by crossed wreaths forming a prominent X motif at the centre, flanked by paired outline crescents set back-to-back. Three angles of the field are decorated with pellet-in-ring ornaments arranged in an arc, while the fourth angle features a stylised cloak element. No spike is present above the head, distinguishing this variety from related issues. |

| Reverse description | Annulate horse advancing right, its body articulated with characteristic Celtic ring-and-pellet ornaments positioned on the breast and rump. The tail is rendered as a single unadorned line. Above the horse, a spoked wheel motif is set upon a stalk, and a further wheel appears below in the field. A circle enclosing a central pellet is placed in front of the horse, serving as a principal field ornament. The composition is typical of the Middle Whaddon Chase series, exhibiting the bold, schematic style characteristic of Trinovantian gold coinage of the late first century BC. |
