Reverse description A compact, stylised horse advances to the right, rendered in the abstracted Celtic manner with a pronounced spiky mane, a feathered or pellet-fringed tail, and a distinctive rounded dog-leg joint articulating the second foreleg. A branch motif occupies the field above the horse. The abbreviated legend CVNO appears below, identifying the issuing king Cunobelin. The overall composition is characteristic of the later Catuvellaunian dynastic coinage, with the horse's form reduced to its most schematic essentials.
