Obverse description Count William VI enthroned facing within an elaborate Gothic architectural canopy, holding a raised sword in his right hand and resting his left hand on a shield bearing the quartered arms of Holland and Bavaria. Two additional heraldic shields flank the throne at either side. The design is rendered in the ornate Gothic style characteristic of late medieval Low Countries coinage. A beaded inner border frames the design, with a Latin legend running around the outer periphery in uncial characters.
