| Obverse description | Highly stylised Celtic design derived from a classical wreath motif, rendered across a corded central dividing line. In two opposing angles, a vestigial, abstracted facial feature is concealed within the decorative composition, a characteristic of the Whaddon Chase derivative coinage tradition. The remaining two angles are filled with flowing, stylised renderings of hair and a draped cloak, rendered as curved linear elements. The overall design is executed in a fragmented, abstract Celtic artistic idiom with no legible inscription. |
