| Beschrijving voorzijde | Highly stylised and fragmentary Celtic wreath motif rendered in the abstract La Tène decorative tradition, comprising a narrow wreath composed of pellets and curved relief lines arranged around a central field. Annular and lunate elements are distributed across the flan, with pellet-in-ring devices and sweeping curved bands characteristic of the Atrebatic coinage tradition. The design is devoid of legible inscription and exhibits the bold, schematic artistry typical of pre-Roman British Celtic goldwork. The irregular flan displays the characteristic uneven edge of a hand-struck quarter stater. |
