Reverse description A large cross with a prominent globule or large dot terminating each of its four arms occupies the center of the flan, with an eight-pointed star within a small central circle at the crossing. The field is divided into four quadrants by the arms of the cross, each quadrant bearing a single Greek letter of the votive acclamation legend. The overall design is executed in the bold, schematic style characteristic of late 11th-century Byzantine anonymous folles.
