| Beschrijving keerzijde | Facing bust of Stauracius, co-emperor and son of Nicephorus I, similarly crowned and robed in imperial loros, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Syracuse mint. The figure is depicted frontally with simplified facial features and schematized drapery folds, consistent with the reduced artistic refinement of Sicilian folles of this period. A partial Greek legend appears in the field, the full inscription being curtailed by the limitations of the irregular flan. The overall execution reflects the output of a peripheral imperial mint working within established iconographic conventions. |
