| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse bears a four-line inscription filling the entire field, a format typical of anonymous and imperial Byzantine copper coinage of the 10th century. The bold Greek majuscule lettering reads CONST / EN ΘEO bA / SILEVS R / OMEON, proclaiming Constantine VII as emperor of the Romans by the grace of God. The letters are large, deeply struck, and set against a plain, unadorned field with no exergual line or decorative border. The inscription is enclosed by a faint circular border, partially visible on the irregular flan. |
