| 正面描述 | Facing bust of Emperor Constantine IV, helmeted and cuirassed, depicted in the frontal Byzantine imperial tradition. The emperor holds a globus cruciger in his right hand, symbolizing Christian imperial authority. The portrait is rendered in the characteristically stylized late antique manner typical of Syracuse mint production, with broad facial features and a simplified military costume. The field is generally plain, consistent with the reduced artistic refinement of provincial folles from this period. |

Constantine IV's Syracuse mint operated under chronic logistical strain — Sicily was among the furthest points from Constantinople in the Byzantine administrative network, and metal supply to provincial mints was frequently disrupted by Arab naval pressure in the western Mediterranean during this period. The Syracuse follis issues of this reign are notably inconsistent in flan preparation and strike quality, a known characteristic of the mint rather than individual piece variation.
Constantine IV spent much of his reign containing the first Arab sieges of Constantinople itself, 674–678, a crisis that left provincial minting a secondary concern at best.
