| Beschrijving voorzijde | Full-length frontal figure of Saint John the Baptist standing in the field, robed in a long garment with a camel-hair mantle, his right hand raised in blessing and his left hand holding a long cross-staff. Flanking the figure are two small floral or heraldic sprigs in the inner field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, reading S IOHANNES B, identifying the patron saint of Florence whose imagery was inherited by the Aragonese florin tradition. The overall style is characteristic of Gothic hammered coinage, with bold but somewhat rough relief typical of 15th-century Iberian minting. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | A large, stylised fleur-de-lis occupies the centre of the reverse field, rendered in the Gothic manner with prominent foliate scrolls at the base and three upright petals rising from a bundled stem, closely following the Florentine florin prototype. The surrounding circular Latin legend reads ARAGO REX AL, identifying Alfonso V as King of Aragon. Small decorative stops punctuate the legend. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hand-struck hammered gold coinage of the period. |
