Reverse description Large, boldly rendered fleur-de-lis occupying the central field, executed in the elaborate Gothic style with curling foliate petals and a prominent central stamen surmounted by a small ornamental device. The fleur-de-lis motif follows the Florentine florin prototype. A partial circular Latin legend naming Alfonso V, King of Aragon, surrounds the device within a beaded border, with the legend distributed around the irregular coin flan.
