Reverse description A large fleur-de-lis occupies the central field of the reverse, rendered in the bold Gothic style characteristic of Aragonese gold florins, with pronounced lateral petals and a budded upper terminal. The design follows the Florentine florin tradition as adapted by the Crown of Aragon. A Latin circumferential legend reading ARAGO REX AL — referencing Alfonso V as King of Aragon — runs around the periphery of the irregularly shaped hammered flan. The field is plain and the strike, typical of hand-hammered medieval gold coinage, shows some weakness at the margins.
