Additional information

Kaykhusraw I ruled the Seljuk Sultanate of Rûm twice — his first reign ended when his brother Süleymanshah II seized Konya in 1196, forcing him into nearly two decades of exile at the Byzantine court in Constantinople and later among various Crusader principalities. This fals dates to that first reign. When he finally recovered the throne in 1205, his coinage changed; issues from the two reigns are chronologically distinct, making this piece specifically attributable to the years before the coup.
