| Reverse description | Reverse field bearing a multi-line Arabic legend in Naskhi script arranged across the flan, recording the mint name al-Qahira (Cairo) and the regnal year. The inscription reads the mint and date formula in the customary Mamluk fals format, with the word 'duriba' (struck) followed by the mint city and the Hijri year expressed in words. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped at the edges, consistent with hammered copper production of the period. The surface exhibits a dark olive-brown patina with areas of orange earth encrustation. |
