| Obverse description | Crudely struck hammered copper flan with an irregularly shaped planchet covered in green and brown patina. The field bears a multi-line Arabic legend in Naskh script arranged within a rectangular frame or cartouche, reading 'Al-Malik al-Nasir, Duriba Tarabulus' (The Victorious King, struck in Tripoli). A dotted border partially encircles the inner cartouche, and the overall execution is characteristic of provincial Mamluk copper coinage of the early fourteenth century. |
