Obverse description Central field features a stylized floral or vegetal ornament, possibly a six-pointed rosette or trefoil motif, rendered in bold relief characteristic of Mamluk hammered coinage. The device is enclosed within a dotted border running along the coin's irregular circumference. The overall design is typical of the geometric decorative vocabulary employed on Mamluk copper fals of the early fourteenth century, with the central motif occupying the majority of the flat field.
