The inscription reads either 'احد واربعين سنة' (year seven hundred forty-one, AH 741) or 'اثنين واربعين سنة' (year seven hundred forty-two, AH 742), distinguishing two variant issues. The legends are executed in a bold, angular Naskh script characteristic of Mamluk copper coinage. The field is enclosed within a circular line border, and the surface exhibits the typical irregular contour and granular texture of a hand-struck Mamluk fals. |
