正面描述 Irregularly shaped hammered copper flan displaying a multi-line Arabic inscription in bold Naskhi script filling the central field. The legend, struck in relief against a flat ground, reads the sultan's titulature and mint formula. The flan shows characteristic rough edges and uneven surface typical of Mamluk provincial copper coinage, with patchy green and brown patination obscuring portions of the legend. No ornamental border is present.

附加信息

Al-Ashraf Sha'ban II came to power as a child of about ten and ruled under the effective control of senior amirs until he asserted greater independence in his later years — a reign that ended when he was murdered by his own officers in 1377. The Trablus (Tripoli) mint had functioned under Mamluk authority since the sultanate's destruction of the Crusader city in 1289, with the new inland settlement absorbing much of the region's commercial activity. Copper fals from provincial Mamluk mints of this period circulated at the lowest transactional level, their exchange rates against silver dirhams fluctuating sharply with metal availability and local economic pressure.
